For any High school Student in West Africa, WAEC is a very important exam, not just because it is an post secondary school exam, but because a Student’s WAEC result serves as a starting point to his or her future as a professional.

For a Student to be successful in the WAEC, He or She has to put in enough effort to prepare for the exam ahead of time, anything aside that is sure to lead to failure.

5 TIPS ON HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE WAEC EXAM:
===================
- Get a copy of the Syllabus: This is mostly important for exams like this. You need to get a copy of the syllabus just to know areas and subjects that need to be covered. With the syllabus, you'd be able to know what to focus on and then be ready for the exam.

- Get the right textbooks: You need books in order to prepare for an exam. You need to buy the recommended textbooks that WAEC approved of so that you'd be able to cover the syllabus with it. One you have the right textbooks, you'd then be prepared to read and pass your exams.

- Plan a Reading Timetable: The first step to take is to plan a reading Timetable. The Timetable should serve as a reading guide and should contain the subjects the Student will be sitting for. An equal amount of time should be allocated to each subject. Avoid allocating more time to favourite subjects and less time to non favourable subjects, instead the opposite should be the case. The Timetable should contain at least 3 hours for reading each day.

- Study According to your Timetable: Studying is much different from reading. When somebody is reading, the Person might not fully understand what He or She is reading. But studying has to do with reading to know. You take your time to study. It is important to keep a Summary book where you jolt down a Summary of what you read; it is very rare to completely forget when you summarize what you have read. Avoid cramming, because cramming will lead to further confusion on the exam day.

- Join Study Groups: You can form a small Study Group with your friends or even joining an educational institition like a less or school. Members of the Study Group should be able to motivate each other to study more, and the Group can meet once a week to exchange ideas. When people study in groups, they are more likely to be motivated and serious about their studies since they'd feel the competition.

- Past Questions: One important to know about the WAEC is that, they repeat their questions over the years. This is why we have compiled past question Textbooks in the market. Buy Past Questions on the subjects you are sitting for and make out time to solve as many of the Past Questions as possible. You will find out that they repeated some questions on the Exam day, which will be to your own advantage.

- Summarize your textbooks: After covering the syllabus, you'd also need to do a rush reading just to summarize and keep in your mind the key points you need to remember. Scanning through your book can help you remember some of the things you might have forgotten before the exam.

- Pray: After thorough preparations and hard work, it is important to pray in order to avoid unforeseeable Circumstances such as sickness, forgetfulness, and exam fright. It is important that you ensure that you have done a serious preparation before praying. Because when you pray without working hard, your failure will be inevitable.

Finally, on the exam day, be punctual,
read each question thoroughly and understand each question before you answer. With these steps mentioned above, you’re sure to pass your WAEC with an excellent result.
