Solar power banks are electronic devices with batteries and a solar cell that generates electronic current from the sun and then stores it in its battery bank so that it can be used to electronically charge other devices that need electric charges. In this age where almost everything is going digital, there is a need for our device to always stay powered. When their batteries are drained and run down, everything seems to come to a halt; this could mean disaster of some sort. This is especially true if you're always- on-the-go type, where getting your batteries become difficult when there is no access to power supply. Thanks to today’s technology that has led to the advent of what is called power banks. This is a portable device that serves as an external charger or an extra battery for your electronic devices. With power banks your devices are kept charged and running even when your o the go. The power bank comes in two forms - either it is itself charged with electricity or those charged with energy from the sun called solar powered power banks. For the sake of this article, our emphasis will be on solar powered power banks.
This type of power banks makes use the solar technology to get charged. This way you don’t have to only rely on the supply of electricity which we all know I not a reliable source of power in part of the world. It operates by collecting and converting light that comes from the sun into electricity it can make use of. This device comprises of an embedded solar panel which brings in energy from the sun and stores it for a later use. They come with a LED indicator that shows their charging level.
How do We Charge Our Solar Powered Power Bank?
Unlike the normal form of power banks which have input socket dedicated for receiving power, all that needs to be done is place it (the power bank) in a location that is exposed to the ray from the sun and it begins to charge. As the sun’s light hits the device, its energy is captured by the built in photo voltaic panel and converted into a form that trickle-charges the internal battery which then can be used by our electronic devices lie mobiles phones etc. These chargers convert light energy to a DC current and store them for use when our batteries are out of power.
With the solar technology, our every day used gadget can be kept on at all times and when needed. Even at those times when we are stuck on a long flight or between meetings or when there is no accessible electricity, we can still make use of our gadgets. They come in different designs, portable sizes, configurations and color and features tailored to suit the needs of our various gadgets. Some come with two ports while others come with less. With our modern sophisticated device these days always power-hungry, they do not get to last for long especially when they are intensively used. They are suitable for any electrical device that requires being charged through a USB or others lie laptops and so on. Now you don’t need to be close to a wall socket before your device can be charged.
