Internet TV also known as online television is a digital means of distributing or sharing television content through the internet. Television shows, advertising and TV programs are shown by video streaming through the internet TV. The use of internet TV is now becoming more popular since the introduction of smart TV. Smart TV is a television that allows you to streamline and watch video contents through the internet. Some popular internet TV providers include; Iroko TV, Youtube, iplayer, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon TV and so on.

While cable TV is a means of distributing television programs and channel using radio frequency signals which is transmitted through coaxial Cables or fibre optic cables. In cable TV, television signals are transmitted over the air by radio waves which are received by a television antenna that is attached to the TV. Some popular providers of Cable TV networks in Nigeria include; Multi choice, East Atlantic Network
The similarity between the two TV mediums is that, both are used to distribute TV programs or contents.

The difference between both of them include,
1. Internet TV distributes contents through the internet while the cable TV makes use of radio frequency signals which are transmitted through cables to distribute TV contents

2. For you to watch an internet TV channel, you need to subscribe to the internet to gain access, while cable TV does not require internet subscription to access its channels

3. Some internet TV channels allow you to download contents to view afterwards, while in cable you don’t have access to save contents. You watch it straight form the TV.
