Using Debit card to make online payment

Since the inception of internet banking and online shopping, People can now stay in their homes and carry out various transactions over the internet, and make payment using their debit card. Debit cards are issue by banks to account holders to help them make virtual transactions. Debits card can also be used in an ATM to withdraw money and check account balance. There are different types of debit cards available, they include; Visa Card, MasterCard, Verve card, Payoneer Card.

Before you can use your Debit card, you have to deposit money into your account. It can be done either through direct deposit in the bank, ATM transfer or transfer from another account, which ever way, funds has to be available in your account for you to carry out any transaction.

If you want to use you debit card for an online payment, visit the website you are making the payment on, click on the item or services you want to pay for, it will take you to a checkout page where you are expected to enter your payment details. Enter the name on the card, enter the card number printed on the front of the card, enter the 3 digits at the back of the card, choose your card type, (Visa, MasterCard, Verve, Payoneer). If you are paying with a Verve card, some sites in Nigeria might require you to enter the name of the bank that issued you the card. The money will be withdrawn from your account instantly to make the payment.
