Milk is said to be the second best drink apart from water, it is an important part of our diet. It is good for the young and adult alike. Milk can be taken alone as a drink or with other meals like porridge or cereals. Which ever way it is taken it is very good for one's health. It is recommended that everyone should take at least a cup of milk daily. Let’s look at some of the health benefit milk in the body. First, breast milk contains the entire necessary nutrient, in the right proportion that is needed for an infant. That is why breast milk is recommended for infants from birth to at least 1 year. Secondly, for young and growing children, milk contains protein which helps in their growth. Also it contains nutrients that help in proper development of the brain. Milk also contains essential calcium, which is good for the development of strong bones and healthy teeth. For adults, milk contains a nutrient called lactic acid that helps to make the skin soft, and look glowing. If you want your skin to be supple, a glass of milk is recommended for you daily.Adults also need milk to maintain their bone density by making it harder and hard to break. It also helps them to fight off diseases. Also, skimmed milk helps in weight loss. It has been proven that People who include skimmed milk in their diet loose weight faster than does that don’t. Finally, milk is great for reducing stress. It helps to reduce tensed muscles and release frayed nerves in the body. It helps boost energy for productivity.
