Signs that you have Malaria

Malaria is caused by a one celled parasite called Plasmodium; female mosquitoes pick the parasite from an infected person when they bite to obtain blood. The parasite remains and develops in the body of the female mosquito and it is transmitted if the affected mosquito bits another person. The parasite enters the blood stream of the person and begins to multiply in the liver and the red blood cell of the newly infected person and starts to kill of the red blood cells. When this happens, the symptom of malaria starts to show on the patient’s body. I will discuss some of the common symptoms or signs that show that a person has malaria.

- Fever: this is one of the common symptoms that show that a person has malaria; the person’s body temperature becomes high and in which case the body can be cleaned with towel and cold water to bring a quick relief and cool down the body.

- Chills: Fever is accompanied with chills most times; while the person’s body is very hot, the person will still be complaining of cold and chills.

- Headache: another similar symptom that a person has malaria is headache; the person will suffer acute or pounding headache.

- Tiredness and muscle Aches: the person’s body becomes very weak and that person will easily feel v tired without doing any strenuous job; and also the muscles and joints in the person’s body starts to ache.

- Nausea and Vomiting: the person will have stomach upset that will lead to constant vomiting
