A tomato is the popular reddish fruit vegetable that we use in this part of world to prepare stew and also used as ingredients in making fruit salad; apart from being used as an ingredient in the preparation of meals, tomatoes should be eaten raw to derive all the health benefits that are packed in this single vegetable.

Some of the health benefits of tomatoes include;

1. Good For The Sight: Among other benefits, tomatoes is a good source of vitamin A which helps to repair the eyesight; if you ever notice that your vision is not as sharp as it used to, you can correct it temporary by adding lots of tomatoes to your meal or wash and eat raw.

2. Helps In Weight Loss: the recommended solution for weight loss is to consume lesser calories and exercise more; tomatoes has very little calorie content and therefore recommended for anyone that wants to loose weight.

3. Contains anti-oxidants: anti-oxidants are molecules found in the body which helps to prevent cell damage; and they are known to inhibit the growth of cancer causing cells in the body; tomatoes has a size-able quantity of this anti-oxidants and it is recommended to be taken daily to prevent the growth of cancerous cells.

4. Good For The Skin: tomato also contains nutrients that help to nourish the skin and make it look smooth and healthy. That is why people who are on fruit and vegetable diets always look healthy and glow when compared to others that don’t.
