Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) is a rare and deadly disease that is making waves around the world. Due to the nature of the Ebola virus Disease, Victims are kept in isolation in order to avoid direct contact with other persons and to prevent an outbreak of the virus in the location. Ebola Virus Disease patients are taken into isolation, where they are given good medical care until their death, though some people have been said to survive the Disease due to their strong immune system. Most times, EVD patients dread and avoid being kept in isolation, this can be as a result of the following reasons;

Fear Of Poor Treatment: Most EVD victims avoid isolation because of the poor treatment that are given to patients in isolation centres. In some places like Liberia, victims are poorly taken care of; because of inadequate health care facilities in the Centres, so in order to avoid being stigmatized and such treatments, EVD patients avoid isolation by all means.

The Fear Of Dying A Lonely Death: Another reason EVD patients avoid isolation centre is because of the fear of dying a lonely painful death. Lonely in the sense that none of the patient’s family members or relatives will be allowed to visit the person until the person is dead. Even after death, the person’s corpse will be properly treated and buried of by health care workers.

Finally Ebola Patients that are yet to be confirmed positive of the Virus avoid going to isolation with other people (Suspects) so that they will not end up contacting the virus as a result of the isolation.
