Most network providers make provision for a time based internet subscription. This time based internet service means that the service is calculated based on time usage allocated to the user and not on the data bandwidth consumption. For instance; if you subscribed for a 2 hours internet service, within that two hours you can use as much data as you want, make large downloads, streamline videos and carryout other high data sized activities over the internet since most time based internet services are unlimited access. Your access to the internet is restricted immediately the 2 hours is completed until you subscribe again. Most people especially those that want to download large content files opt in for this type of data plan. Some advantages of time based internet service include;
1. You have unlimited access to the internet within the time period.
2. You can use that time to download large sized files.
3. It is cheaper to access large sized files using the time based service since you are billed according to time you subscribe for not according to the data spent.
This type of internet access has its disadvantages, and they include;
1. The time allocated to you might be too short for you to access large content files.
2. If you are not a heavy data user, this service might not be to your advantage as it favours mostly heavy internet downloads.
3. Since its time based, the whole time maybe wasted if network is bad within the stipulated time and you will end up achieving little or nothing with the data you subscribed.
4. It can be a bit more expensive than data limited plans.
