Things an employer can do to retain employees

Employees are the backbone of a Company or Organization; it is the employees that will work with the Company Employer to take actions daily towards achieving the Organizational goals. A company with bad employees will not achieve its business goals and may not remain in business for a long time. Some things that an Employer can do to retain and motivate its employees to put in their best towards achieving the Organization’s goals include;- Salary Increase: This is among the top ways an Employer can retain and motivate an employee; occasional increase of monthly salary after the employee achieves a target or monthly goal will go a long way to motivate the employee to strive harder to achieve other goals. Asides the basic salary, you can also provide other allowances and bonuses to supplement the basic salary.- Better Working Environment: Employees work better in a conducive environment than in an uncomfortable environment. Providing a better working environment may include; safety equipment and wears for employees that engage in hazard jobs and medical insurance to take care of their basic health problems.- Less Disciplinary Actions: Some employers give strict disciplinary actions for every little default made by an employee; some go as high as deducting the salary of the employee as punishment for wrong actions; strict disciplinary actions will only reduce the ability of the employee to be productive. Less disciplinary actions on the other hand will encourage employees to put in their best and be more productive.
